Milepost 5 Studios, Hallway Artwork

Readings@Milepost 5 – Ruth Beck, To Hell With Love Open Mic

Readings@Milepost 5 occurs every second Tuesday. Sponsored by The Habit of Rainy Nights Press / Elohi Gadugi.

On February 14th we will have featured reader, Ruth Beck, followed by our first themed Open Mic, To Hell With Love, which will explore the dark side of love.

Poet Ruth Beck

Featured reader Ruth Beck was born in Oregon and attended Marylhurst University, from which she holds a BA degree in Religion & Philosophy with a minor in Creative Writing. She was the recipient of the 2008 Clackamas Community College Writing Contest Award in Poetry, and was also recipient of the Binford Writing Award at Marlyhurst University. Her poetry has appeared in a small handful of literary journals, and she is the author of the chapbook, Trepanning for Gold (2009). She lives in Oregon City, Oregon, with her husband, son & English bulldog.

We are looking for poets, story tellers, and acoustic musicians to perform. Bring your poems, stories, songs and very short fiction (under 1200 words) about rejection, break ups, lonely hearts, independence, and twisted love. If you don’t have anything on the subject, don’t worry, we won’t turn you away (just no goo-goo-eyed, luv-struck crap, okay?).
